Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has unveiled the names of 13 nominees to the position of chief officers and reiterated his commitment to deliver on the pre-election pledges he made.

Speaking at a Press conference after unveiling the names yesterday, Mr Lusaka noted that majority of the nominees, whose names had been forwarded to the county assembly for vetting and subsequent approval, were holders of master’s degrees and above.

He said the choices were made with regard to regional and gender balance.

Lusaka said he ensured the County Public Service Board met all the constitutional requirements to the letter, adding that the nominees reflected the diversity of the county.

The nominees are Martin Talian (Environment and Natural Resources), Evans Fwamba (Tourism and Forestry), Peter Mukenya (Finance), John Mukhwana (Water) and Robert Simiyu (Land, Urban and Physical Planning).

Others are David Kibiti (Education, Science and ICT), Jacob Okisegere (Livestock and Fisheries), Chrispinus Barasa (Trade and Energy) and Herbert Kibunguchi (Roads and Public Works).

Women chief officers on the list include Consolata Wakwabubi (Public Administration), Christine Wasike (Gender and Culture), Cherotich Mung’ou (Youths and Sports) and Monica Fedha (Agriculture and Co-operatives).
