Kinangop, Kenya: A sixteen-year-old girl was burnt to death in Kinangop, Nyandarua County after fire broke out in a residential plot.
The teenager was burnt beyond recognition during the incident in Chobe village after a petrol outlet burst into flames.
Property worth millions of shillings were reduced to ashes and over ten families left homeless during the Monday night incident.
A fifty-year-old man was rushed to Naivasha district hospital in a critical condition after he was injured during the incident.

According to a witness Joel Maina, the fire broke out from the fuel outlet spreading fast to the adjoining houses.
Maina said the teenager was using a lantern to check on a leaking container that had petrol when the fire broke out.
“The leaking container burst into flames burning the girl and spreading fast to the nearby houses,” said the witness.
Kinangop OCPD Yawa Chome said the body of the deceased had been taken to Naivasha district hospital mortuary.
“The minor died at the scene while one victim is recuperating in hospital as we investigate the issue,” he said on phone.
