Commissioner dies after accident

West Pokot, Kenya: West Pokot assistant County Commissioner Hezbon Kitasi has succumbed to injuries he sustained in a road accident along the Eldoret-Kapsabet road.

County Commissioner Peter Okwanyo regretted the death of his junior who was involved in the accident on Monday. Okwanyo said Kitasi was on his way to a close relative’s burial.

He said the vehicle in which he was travelling was involved in a head-on collision with matatu and several passengers were injured seriously.

The commissioner said the injured were rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
