Speaking in his boardroom when he unveiled his chief officers, Malombe asked the team to familiarise themselves with the vision and mission so that they can be effective in their work.
“The rating of the county will depend on the performance of the chief officers, Cabinet members and the Public Service Board. You should be aware of relevant constitutional and legal framework pertaining to your dockets,” said Malombe.
Flanked by his deputy Ms Peninah Malombe, the governor also asked the new officials to acquaint themselves with county policies and legislation to be able to steer the county to greater heights of development.
He said Article 6(2) of the Constitution provides that the national and county government levels are distinct but interdependent, and that their mutual relationship shall be on the basis of cooperation and consultation.
“It is anticipated that all of you will embark on developing and refining your respective departmental and ministerial functions. I hope also you will cope with challenges and opportunities for the delivery of services pertaining to your dockets,” said Malombe.
