West Pokot, Kenya: A middle-aged man was Friday evening killed by rowdy mob at Sigor in West Pokot County in a retaliatory attack following a raid at Orwa village that left a 13 year-old boy dead.
The mob is reported to have descended on the man with crude weapons at Runo area, some 15 kilometers from Sigor center.
Pokot Central OCPD Nicholas Musilu confirmed the incidence that occurred a few hours after suspected Turkana raiders attacked Orwa village along Kapenguria – Lodwar highway and made away with unknown number of animals.
Musilu said the deceased lived in the area sometime back before he moved out and had just returned recently unaware of the tense situation.

He said the angry mob was on revenge mission and planned to flush out members of a particular community that has been in constant conflict with them.
Musilu spoke to The Standard on phone as he led an operation to pursue the stolen stock as well as to save the lives of the targeted community by ferrying them to safer places.
“We have gathered about 15 members of this target community and are still looking for more so that we can take them to safer places to avoid impending attacks,” disclosed the OCPD
The raid at Orwa village took place only a day after heavily armed police officers went to collect the decomposing body of motorbike mechanic who had been killed by suspected Turkana assailants before dumping him at the roadside.
