KIAMBU, KENYA: Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has said poor working relationship between the executive and the assembly will stall development.
Mr Wamatangi said Kiambu has already felt the heat of the bad relationship between the two county organs, which are the key pillars in devolution.
He asked Governor William Kabogo to exercise dialogue with the assembly members and bring to an end the standoff between them.
Wamatangi said the animosity between the two organs was a threat to development, noting that little progress has taken place.

Speaking in Kiambu town at the weekend, the senator said he is exploring ways to facilitate a meeting between the two organs and other county leaders to iron out issues.
He said as the county president, Mr Kabogo should make consultations with the MCAs and other stakeholders before making any moves to avoid happenings what have subjected the county to a situation of embarrassment.
“No organisation can thrive with infighting in its leadership like it is happening in our county. If we continue this way, we will be among the poor performing counties, which is a disgrace to our potential,” Wamatangi said.
MCAs have accused the executive of assuming their responsibilities. Recently, they said they were kept off the role of the preparation of the Finance Bill, which they later rejected.
