Kisii, Kenya: ODM has ratified the revocation of the appointment of the party’s majority chief whip in the Kisii County Assembly.
Masimba Ward Representative Joash Orora is now the party’s majority chief whip, replacing his Bassi Central counterpart Henry Moracha.
The party had earlier opposed a move by the party’s Kisii County branch to revoke Moracha’s appointment on grounds that it was not done unprocedurally.
Twenty ODM members of the Kisii County Assembly met and resolved to revoke Moracha’s appointment and Orora’s name was forwarded to Orange House in a letter signed by Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.

A letter dated October 30, and addressed to the deputy governor, copied to Moracha and signed by Langat, ratified the revocation.
“We have since received clarification on the replacement of Moracha as the Chief Whip Kisii County Assembly. We note that his replacement was done as per the law by the members of the county assembly caucus and subsequently our earlier letter stands withdrawn,” read the letter in part.
Moracha maintained that he was the valid holder of the Chief Whip post.
