Homa Bay County: Homa Bay County has made a history by being the first to hold a beauty pageant to get the county’s ambassador.
The contest, held at Homa Bay hotel, saw Joy Apuko crowned as Miss Homa Bay County. The competition was part of the celebration to mark the county’s cultural day. Apuko, a second year student at Technical University of Kenya pursing geospatial engineering, beat other 15 contestants for the coveted title.
In an interview with The Standard, Apuko expressed her jubilation for emerging the winner.
“I am a happy lady this moment and I promise to recognise those who contested with me in this competition so that we embrace unity to participate in matters of developing our county,” she said.
