Kitui County: Parents at Kitui High School have rejected the principal, Baraka Kasoa.
During a stormy Annual General Meeting at the school, the charged parents unanimously voted to reject Kasoa saying he did not meet the integrity threshold and that he was arrogant.
The principal, who took over the institution’s leadership in 2010, skipped the meeting but sent his deputy, Benson Ndumia, to represent him.
The parents also accused Kasoa of poor leadership and alleged financial impropriety and gross indiscipline among students.

Student unrest
Board of Governors Chairman Muusya Mwinzi and his Parents Teachers Association (PTA) counterpart Eunice Kiema said their earlier attempts to drive away the principal from the school were thwarted by some political forces that connived with the Teachers Service Commission.
Dr Mwinzi said the parents’ resolution was fundamental following frequent incidents of student unrest. “The board together with PTA will implement it with utmost speed,” he assured the parents.
