Kenya: Two people who were arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Lower Yatta District Commissioner were Thursday arraigned before a Githunguri court facing robbery with violence charge.
Peter Otieno and Julius Maina appeared before Githunguri Principal Magistrate Benson Nzakyo where they denied robbing James Hungi of his three phones and a Ceska pistol loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.
The two were charged that on January 13 at St Joseph Secondary School in Githunguri, jointly with others not in court, while armed with crude weapons, they robbed Mr Hungi of the valuables worth Sh480, 000.
The duo was also charged that on the same day, they robbed Francis Mungai of a computer and a laptop all valued at Sh190, 000.

They, however, denied the two counts and were released on a bond of Sh500, 000 with an alternative of a Sh300, 000 cash bail pending the next hearing which begins of August 23.
The prosecuting has a total on nine witnesses expected to testify against the accused persons.
Hungi was found murdered at St Josephs Secondary School compound after he was attacked by a gang at round 3am when he was allegedly dropping his girlfriend who works at the institution.
