Nakuru, Kenya: Three police officers were arraigned before a Nakuru court facing charges of soliciting bribes.
Corporals David Waithaka, Sara Auma and Constable George Mugambi were charged with soliciting for a Sh10,000 bribe from Bethany Wanjiru.
The three officers denied the charge before Nakuru chief magistrate Samuel Mungai as an inducement to forego unspecified charges.
The court released the officers on a Sh500,000 bond or a cash bail of 200,000. The case will be heard on September 16.

Meanwhile, police have increased charges against two people arraigned in court for stealing laptops on Monday.
Peter Kimani Mburu alias Stephen Wamae Nyaga and Purity Wanjiru Kagotho are suspected to be part of a group that has been stealing laptops from students within Nakuru town and individuals.
Kimani and Wanjiru denied a robbery with violence charge alleged to have been committed on August 3.
The two were charged with violently robbing Bernard Kipng’etich Mutai at Midlands Hotel along the Nakuru- Eldoret highway of a Compaq laptop worth Sh37,000.
