Wajir, Kenya: An Orange Democratic Movement official has clashed with four MPs from Wajir County over plans to alter the list of nominated county representatives.
National Elections Board commissioner Ibrahim Rashid is opposed to the substitution of three names in the gender top up lists category that is being pushed by the four legislators.
Rashid told the IEBC Disputes Tribunal chaired by commissioner Thomas Letangule that the names of Rukia Abdille Abdullahi, Natesha Mohamed Aden and Habiba Issack Yusuf were not in the original party lists submitted to the commission in January.
MPs Mohamed Elmi, Aden Keynan, Ibrahim Saney and Fatuma Ibrahim, through lawyer Kethi Kilonzo, told the tribunal that their clan had resolved to nominate the three in the county.
