The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has set the stage for Makueni Senatorial by-election by announcing nomination dates and campaign period.
The nomination dates of political parties candidates will be held on June 26 and 27 and they will have to present their papers to the County Returning Officer on the said dates.
In a gazette notice, IEBC chair Isaac Hassan stated that candidates have to submit party symbols by Wednesday, June 5 in preparation for the by-election to be held on July 22.
“Disputes arising from decisions of the Returning Officer after nominations shall be determined within seven days of lodging the dispute with the Commission,” Hassan said.
