Former Miss Kenya Cecilia Mwangi has a new dog, less than a week after her beloved Terrier Cross, Bobby, died. Bobby was a celebrity in his own right, often accompanying Cecilia to events. The dog was recently featured in The Nairobian as one of the city’s most pampered pet.
Bobby, who had been with Cecilia since November 2007, died recently from injuries suffered after an attack by two Dobermans as his owner — alongside daughter Cherise — were taking their daily walk in their Ridgeways neighbourhood.
“One dog bit Bobby’s neck and the other bit his stomach. He bled to death before the vet arrived at the scene,” says Cecilia. Bobby was buried at Kiambu Veterinary Clinic.
Her neighbour and a guest, who is the supposed owner of the Dobermans, are said to have apologised and even offered to buy Cecilia a new dog.

“I will miss Bobby he was not only a good friend, but he was a great baby sitter. He was always taking care of Cherise, who will be turning two in August. I never had to use a baby monitor because whenever Cherise was up Booby would always look for me to let me know. He was Cherise’s playmate and best friend. He slept sandwiched between my door and her door,” she says.
Cecilia says her daughter did not understand that Bobby was dead and kept asking for him. The beauty, who is also involved in the anti-jiggers campaign, says she had to buy a new dog, a dachshund - also named Bobby.
