Kenya: President Uhuru Kenyatta and his South Sudan counterpart Salva Kiir Mayardit have agreed to fast-track implementation of the Lamu Port and Lamu Southern Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor project.
Uhuru and Kiir also said the two countries will jointly source funding for the upgrading of the road linking the two countries for mutual benefit of their people.
The two were addressing the Press after holding talks in Juba yesterday when Uhuru made a stop-over on his way to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the 21st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union Heads of State and Government.
Uhuru particularly emphasised completion of the project and improvement of the road linking Kenya and South Sudan were viable projects that would enable people of the two countries to interact freely and boost trade between them.
