Nairobi, Kenya: Kenya and Ethiopia have reiterated their commitment to bilateral trade as well as regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta after holding talks with visiting Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and his delegation at State House, Nairobi stressed the need for the two countries to work together.
The talks also dwelled on trade co-operation, Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor project (Lapsset), regional security and unity.
He re-affirmed his Government’s focus in championing this agenda acknowledging the warm and cordial relations that have existed between the two countries.

“We held fruitful discussions, deliberating on a range of issues. The talks touched on bilateral issues bearing in mind Kenya’s long, traditional friendship with Ethiopia,” noted the President, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto and other leaders.
He said the agreement would improve the relationship between the two countries.
Desalegn also affirmed the President’s pledge, adding that their continued co-operation will solidify ties.
