Governor Granton Samboja and Taveta MP Naomi Shaban yesterday held a thanksgiving ceremony after winning the Mahoo Ward by-election.

Donald Saleri of Jubilee Party beat Daniel Kimuyu of the United Democratic Alliance, whose campaign in the last week polls was led by former governor John Mruttu.

Samboja and Dr Shaban said the victory was a  major win for the Azimio la Umoja being spearheaded by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Shaban also accused the former governor of endorsing an aspirant to oppose her in next year's elections.
