A university lecturer yesterday took over leadership of Coast-based Kenya African Democratic Union-Asili (Kadu-Asili) after resigning on Monday.
Prof Gabriel Katana resigned as deputy principal at the Pwani University College and announced he would vie for Kilifi governor’s seat.
“I have decided to vie for governorship to restore hope to Kilifi residents who have suffered because of poor leadership. I have ventured into politics to uplift the ailing education standards in Kilifi,” he said.
Katana said he would also have a programme to address food security and encourage youth to go for farming as an economic venture.
