Githae said he was preparing a Cabinet paper to facilitate funding of the case. Mr Githae was speaking at Ihururu, Nyeri County during the launch of Dedan Kimathi Health Centre and Maternity. He said the Government was committed to pay for the legal fees.

“The Government is committed to honour our independence heroes, and by so doing, I am preparing a Cabinet paper that would enhance funding of legal fees to be accrued,” said Githae.

He said the claims were genuine.

“We are in independence and enjoy freedom because of these gallant Kenyans who fought tirelessly to secure our nation.”

At the same time, the minister exuded confidence the Government would procure the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits in time in readiness for the November 12 voter registration.

He urged Kenyans to register as voters, adding that youths should collect their identification cards from respective registration offices countrywide.

“I urge the youths to register as voters to ensure they exercise their constitutional right by voting,” he said.

The minister also urged Uhuru to join hands with other presidential aspirants, such as URP’s William Ruto, Najib Balala of Republican Congress (RCP), and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), among others.

“We want Uhuru to approach other leadersto ensure victory in the first round of elections,” he said.

 Commitment

The Kieni constituency aspirants committed to ensure the youth were not used to cause chaos during the campaign period.

During the signing held at Mweiga’s Wembley Stadium, Kieni West DC Abdi Noor said the accord was meant to promote integration and a peaceful political transition.
