President William Ruto left the country on Wednesday evening, for a trip to the United States.
According to State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, the president's trip aims at underscoring the country's commitment to tech innovation in its role as a trade partner to the US.
He is set to visit Silicon Valley, and hold meetings with tech giants of Microsoft, Intel, Google and Apple.
"The visit aims to enhance investment opportunities and trade relations with the US, with a particular focus on nurturing Kenya's startup sector dubbed Silicon Savannah." Hussein's statement reads in part.
After that, President Ruto will be attending the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York City.
He will also take part in the UN Secretary-General's climate ambition summit aimed at building on the successes of the recently concluded Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi
