Pastor Dorcas Gachagua has publicly defended her husband, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, saying he is "prayed for" and that she stands with him.

While ministering at House of Grace Church in Nairobi on Sunday, April 2, the second lady dismissed claims by rumourmongers who she says, doubt if she prays for her husband.

"Whoever has been asking me to pray more for him [DP Rigathi Gachagua]. I can tell you he is prayed for; he is protected and I love him. I love that man, I stand with him and I'm very sure they will make the right decisions,"

"There's no man I pray for better than that man. Whoever has been having any doubts that I pray for him, he cannot be where he is without prayer, he cannot be who he is and protected the way he is without prayer. I can tell you he is prayed for," Pastor Dorcas said.

Pastor Dorcas made the sentiments at a church service where she pledged to work towards helping the boychild and widows across the country.

"My office and church will work together and collaborate to dignify the lives of the boychild and the widows in the country. We also prayed for the end of violence and demonstrations and the establishment of God's peace in the country," she said.

A few days ago, Pastor Dorcas committed to the formation of National Widows Sacco to help women access funds to develop their lives.

She also met widows' groups under Osigili Nkoliaei in Loitoktok Kajiado County.

"We need to move away from the widows just borrowing and relying on help from others but owning their lands and houses through such a Sacco," she said.
