A family from Vihiga is worried about their daughter, who disappeared last Wednesday while on her way to school.

The form-two student at St Anne’s Musoli Girls’ high school was last seen at Kisumu’s matatu terminus after she alighted from a bus from Narok.

Mercyline Ijayi said her daughter, Charity Anne ,15, left Narok on July 13, to Kisumu where she was expected to board a vehicle to Kakamega.

“Charity left home on July 13. I was worried after she failed to communicate, which was unlike her,” she said.

Ijayi says she only learnt about her daughter’s disappearance after one of her teachers called to ask why Charity had not reported back to school.

“Her teacher called asking why my daughter was not in school. I was shocked since the school had not communicated. I am worried and I hope she is well,” said Ijayi.

Ms Ijayi has reported the matter to Mullot and Kisumu Central Police Stations, with the police promising to commence the search.

Musoli Girl’s High school principal, Everlyne Mbayah, has urged residents to volunteer any information concerning the girl to the nearest police station.
