Police in Kiambu have arrested four prison officers suspected of conning two people out of Sh2.1 million under false pretence. 

The victims reported that the officers had promised to secure their relatives entry into Kiganjo Police College as police recruits. 

“The two reported that they had been promised docket numbers to enable their relatives join the National Police College main campus- Kiganjo,” a police report seen by The Standard read. 

Authorities said that the four officers; Corporals Beatrice Kamau and Florence Wanjiku both of prison headquarters and Sergeants Ben Mburu and Violet Gachomo of Industrial Area Remand had requested the victims to provide Sh2.1 million and academic documents in order for their request to go through. 

“On receiving the docket numbers, they realized that they were fake and raised alarm,” they said. 

Police recovered a Probox with twenty fake docket numbers and academic documents, while some other suspects escaped in a black Toyota Noah.
