Havilah Academy Mtwapa, in Kilifi County yesterday emerged as the best school in the Coast region with a mean score of 387.6
The school, which enrolled 21 students, had its top candidate Jacquisse Ngala score 415 marks. Grace Neema Katana and David Mbura got 407.
Ngala said his dream school is Kapsabet High School, and that he hopes to be a surgeon. Neema said her dream school is Kenya High and hopes to become an architect.
“I want to join Kenya High and work hard to become an architect,” said Neema.
The school’s director Eric Kai said the school had performed well despite facing many challenging problems.
Despite their poor background, the candidates posted good results.
Other candidates from Havilah Academy, Mtwapa, who did well include Prince Jembe 405 and Elvis Ngare who scored 404 marks.
David Mbura Sammy's dream school is Friends Kamusinga where he wants to work hard and become a biochemist.
“We have managed a mean score of 387.67 because of hard work and trust in God. I am happy God has heard our prayers,” said Kai.
Kinsey City Academy also posted good results with Nicholus Mutungi scoring 407 marks. His dream school is Chavakali High School.
He wants to be an engineer.
Rosemary Mwakisha got 403 marks.
The school which was started in 2009 has been steadily improving its performance.
