Kenya received 400,000 doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine from the United Kingdom Government on Tuesday night, August 17.
The consignment was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 10pm by the Acting Director-General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth and representatives of the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
Dr. Amoth revealed that on Monday, August 23, the country will receive 1.8 million doses of Moderna vaccine and 13 million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
In September, Kenya will get 1.8 million doses of Pfizer vaccine in efforts to improve nationwide vaccination drive.
As of August 16, 2021, a total of 2,101,403 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, total first-doses were 1,346,861 while second doses were 754,542.
