Police in Bondo, Siaya County are investigating the death of a 15-year-old Form Two student who was killed and her body dumped in a farm.
According to the family, Judith Otieno, a student at Kamnara Secondary School had left on Wednesday morning to school before her body was found hours later near a stream in Abom village in Sakwa.
George Oloo, the deceased’s cousin who identified the body, called on the police to ensure the killers are apprehended.
“I was called at 3pm to the scene where my cousin’s body was dumped and I positively identified her,” said Oloo,
Area police commander Roseline Chebosho who led a team of detectives and police officers from Bondo and Lwanda Kotiende said the naked body of the Form Two student was discovered by residents near Kamnara River.
“The body of the girl was discovered at around 3pm by locals who notified the police,” said the police boss.
Detectives conducted preliminary investigations at the scene.
According to the police report, the body had a shoelace tied around the neck and had foamed in the mouth and nose.
Shocked residents, who spoke to Standard Digital, suspect the student could have been raped before being murdered.
The body was moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary.
