A woman has filed an upkeep suit against former State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi.
Through lawyer Enricah Dulo, the woman wants the court to compel Itumbi to provide for the child, pending the hearing and determination of the suit.
In court documents, the woman says Itumbi deserted the child and has not been providing any form of maintenance, knowing she is an orphan.
She says she had to stop working before delivering the child.
“We are seeking the court's indulgence to have my client awarded Sh50,000 monthly allowance for the minor to cater for food, clothing, medicine and house help salary,” said lawyer Dulo.
The woman wants to have Itumbi compelled to provide a copy of his national ID so his name can be included in the child's birth certificate.
She says Itumbi blocked her number and she is unable to engage with him on any meaningful conversation regarding the child's welfare.
The woman adds that Itumbi unsuccessfully tried to convince her to abort her pregnancy.
The woman says she was in a relationship with Itumbi between January and August last year before they split up.
The case will be heard on September 26.
