Police are investigating an incident in which a torso of a woman was found wrapped in a paper and dumped by the roadside in Nairobi.

The body’s head, hands and legs were missing when it was discovered along Landhies Road in Nairobi on Monday morning.

Police at the scene said the torso was of a female but they are yet to identify the victim.

The team that attended the scene said they were called and informed of the presence of the paper bag before they went to pick it.

Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo said the victim has not been identified and indications are that she was killed elsewhere and the torso dumped at the scene.

He appealed to those whose kin are missing to report to police to help in investigations. He also called on alertness in efforts to trace the whereabouts of the missing body parts.

The torso was taken to the mortuary as investigations go on.

Meanwhile, a man was arrested after allegedly butchering his wife at Transami area in Embakasi, Nairobi County.

Police were called and informed of the incident before they moved to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.
