The proposed partnership between Kenya Airways and Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is ambiguous, according to a new audit.
The report tabled in the National Assembly yesterday reveals how decisions may have been made without the involvement of KAA.
Also, it states that crucial documents necessary to paint a clear picture of the deal were missing.
Without key documents, the auditors were unable to satisfy themselves that dealings involved in the merger had so far been transparent, and stuck to the straight and narrow.
The auditors said they could find no evidence of a feasibility study that allegedly informed a Cabinet memo seeking approval for the deal.
“There is no evidence of KAA management and its board being involved in the joint Cabinet Memorandum that was prepared and tabled in cabinet meeting of May 29 201," the report read.[
