The County government has allocated money for projects meant to benefit from the Sh1.9 billion received from World Bank under the Kenya Urban Support Programme.

Governor Ferdinand Waititu already launched a number of the projects to be funded.

Kikuyu sub-county was allocated Sh534 million, Ruiru Sh484 million, Thika Sh305 million, Kiambu Sh160 million and Limuru Sh160 million.

The projects in Thika include improvement of storm water drainage, Kugo-Kibiru road upgrade and street lighting.

In Ruiru, the two-kilometer Kihunguro-Full Gospel Church access road will be tarmacked.

A modern bus park and a two-kilometer bypass will be put up in Kiambu town, besides the construction of the 3.2-kilometer Thindigua-Windsor road.

In Karuri the three-kilometer Kanjiku-King’othua road will be tarmacked and a modern fire station put up.

In Limuru, Kambaa road will be upgraded, while in Kikuyu roads at Gikuni shopping centre and Wambaa-Wamakima are set to be tarmacked.
