An Ethiopian Airline aircraft overshot the runway today at 12: 41 am at the Entebbe International Airport.

The Boeing B-737-800, Flight Number ET338, had 139 passengers and crew on board who all disembarked safely.

According to a press statement from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, the Ethiopian Airlines and Entebbe International airport team are working on removal of the plane from the runway end as it has affected inbound international flights.

The Entebbe International Airport has apologized for delays caused by the incident and promised to update the public on any arising development.

The Ethiopia Airlines released a statement saying that the aircraft was not damaged and will be towed to the ramp.

The airline has arranged for an alternative flight that will complete the return flight and rebook the passengers who were booked to travel from Entebbe to Addis Ababa.

“We apologize to our valued customers, who were on-board the flight for the inconvenience. An alternative flight is being arranged to complete the return flight and rebook the passengers, who were booked to travel from Entebbe to Addis Ababa,” the statement added.
