Lupita Nyong’o took the world by storm after she won an Oscar Award for Best Supporting Actress from her role in 12 Years A Slave, and has ever since been a topic of conversation being under the spotlight.

It was the beginning of her fame as she was earlier this year named as “Most Beautiful Woman” by People Magazine and now gracing the cover of Glamour Magazine, Woman of the Year issue.

According to her Glamour interview, Lupita is still adjusting to her new status on the A-list. “I did have a dream to be an actress, but I didn’t think about being famous, and I haven’t yet figured out how to be a celebrity. That’s something am learning and I wish there were a course on how to handle it,” says the 31-year-old actress.

Lupita did not forget to mention her family and more so her mother when she said, “I come from a loving, supportive family, and my mother taught me that there are more valuable ways to achieve beauty than just through your external features.”

She is now a household name and continues to shine in every aspect from fashion to magazine covers. A role model worth acknowledging for her success.
