The University of Nairobi has stepped up efforts to recruit subordinate and teaching staff to manage the population prompted by this year’s double intake of students.
The institute of higher learning is seeking 38 personnel in different fields to strengthen its human capacity.
UoN is looking for qualified and competent personnel to fill the positions of several lecturers in different departments, technologists in different fields, an associate professor in Kisumu Law Campus and a director in library and information services.
Other subordinate positions include a cleaner, a driver, an assistant administrator and a clerk.
The University also seeks individuals with PhD’s to fill the post of Registrar- administration division, professors, lecturers and a director, library and information services.
A Master’s degree is required for those applying for the post of a Chief personnel officer while a bachelor’s degree is required for those seeking the post of an assistant administrator and a senior technologist in Geography and Environmental Studies.
Cleaners, drivers, clerks and trainee technologists are expected to at least have a KCSE certificate or relevant training in the particular job description.
The applications should be forwarded to the relevant departments and reach the school before Friday, June 21.
The move to boost its human resource base comes at a time when the University is being considered for participation in a United Nations Industrialization and Development Organization (UNIDO) project.
The project is on the Kenya National System of innovation with an aim of improving the implementation of science and technology, and innovation as part of industrial development in Kenya.
