MACHAKOS, KENYA: A father of four has been handed a life imprisonment sentence for defiling his eight year old daughter.
Nzuki John Muia was jailed by Machakos Senior Resident Magistrate Ms L.Simiyu.
The accused reportedly committed the incest offense on February 8,2013 at Lukenya location in Machakos County.
The prosecution led by Inspector Abed Kavoo had successfully argued its case leading to the conviction of the girls father.
Kavoo told the court the defiled girl’s mother was mentally ill at the time her father turned against her and had carnal knowledge with the minor.
The accused turned out to be his daughter’s oppressor when he ought to have protected her jealously considering the mother was mentally ill”, pointed out the Magistrate while sentencing the man.
Ms Simiyu ordered the Machakos Children’s Officer Jotham Kamau to ensure the girl’s siblings are rescued in addition to ensuring the defiled girl is placed under a person fit to care for them.
Meanwhile residents in Kisau location,Mbooni East district in Makueni County have called for the immediate arrest of the person who hacked a 45 year old man to death last week.
Led by the Member of County Assembly for Kisau/Kiteta Ward Jackson Ngovi,the residents complained that the alleged killer is known to the police and he should be arrested without further delay.
The 45 year old Muli Syuma was brutally murder on Thursday as he fetched firewood at Kisau hill at about 3.00pm.
Mbooni East district OCPD James Baraza said the the hunt for the deceased’s killer has been launched and called for calm.
Witnesses said they heard the deceased crying for help but the found him dead by the time they reached where he was being attacked.
Baraza said the motive of the murder is yet to be known, adding police will leave no stone unturned in their search for the killer.
On Saturday, Ngovi said the deceased had made several reports to the police over threat messages he had been receiving.
