NAIROBI, KENYA: Activist Boniface Mwangi arrested at Uhuru Park on Wednesday during Labour Day Celebrations was on Thursday charged in court with causing a breach of the peace.

Mwangi was jointly charged with Richard Amwai in a Nairobi court.

The two are accused of shouting at Cotu Secretary General, Mr Francis Atwoli when he was addressing the crowd.

The two allegedly called Mr Atwoli a traitor.

They denied the charges and were each released on a cash bail of Sh 5000 by Nairobi Chief Magistrate Kiarie Waweru Kiarie.
