Eve Bridal: How did you two meet?

Consolata: I met Romeo during a team building retreat organised by the company we were working with before he jumped ship. Although we did not talk much, I noted his presence. Emails and phone numbers were exchanged afterwards and we became friends.

Romeo: It was over lunch hour and I was barely four months old in the company when I saw Consolata walk past the table where I was seated. I admired the confidence in her walking and set myself to talk to her at some point. A team building came in handy as it served as the starting point.

EB: What attracted you to each other?

Consolata: His sense of organisation struck me. He is also loving, caring, gentle and above all God fearing.

Romeo: She exhibited maturity and is responsible, a jewel, caring, humble with a swag and witty. She was the complete package for me.

EB: What challenges did you encounter in the process of planning?

On some occasions, the planning meetings had very few people attending, as few as three. Two weeks to the wedding, we had raised only a third of the budget, but we kept faith in God that we would attain the target before the wedding. In other instances, some vital things were overlooked.

EB: What was the most interesting part of the wedding?

Consolata: After the church session, we had to change plans and decided to have the photo session after the reception since there was a lot of traffic. My hubby took over the BMX Z3 car and drove to the reception ground. The joy, singing and shout from the guests was just awesome.

Romeo: Unveiling of the ring holder and the moment when we made personal commitments to each other were awesome.

EB: Why did you choose orange and black as the colour scheme?

Consolata: Our concept was a blend of the African and Western cultures. Orange was bright and unifying while black was to tone down the brightness and also portray our African identity.

EB: What would you do differently if you were to wed again?

Consolata: Everything came out perfectly as planed. I would repeat it exactly the same way.

Romeo: The wedding was perfect. Maybe I would dance more both in church and at the reception.

EB: Where was the honeymoon?

We had a lovely stay at Nairobi Serena and finished it in South Coast where we visited many interesting places. It was so much fun.
