Western Province grabbed 10 positions in the top 100 county schools in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education. St Peters Seminary in Kakamega East District produced the top student Job K Nalianya in Kakamega County and nationally.

Top on the list was Bungoma’s Friends School Kamusinga, which was position eight followed by Kibabii Boys at number nine.

Other schools that featured in the category were St Charles Lwanga at position 27, St Peters Mumias at 29, and Nyang’ori Boys 42. Others were Lugulu Girls, 44, Chavakali Boys 48, and Bunyore Girls 50.

Butula Boys was position 83 while Kakamega High School closed the category at 100.

In the districts category, Western got top three positions. Koyonzo, St Martha’s Mwitoti and Namachanja High emerged position 34, 44, and 89.

In the private schools category, Western took three positions.

Mudasa Academy, Booker Academy, and St Peters Seminary were position 21, 28, and 45.

Kamusinga took eight of top 10 positions in the county. The other school that featured in the top 10 was Kibabii High School whose students took positions five and ten.

In national schools category, Kamusinga was ranked position 12, emerging the best in Western Province. Lugulu Girls failed to produce a student in the top 10 in Bungoma County.

Lugulu, which was also elevated to a national school, was ranked position 28 in national schools category followed by Bunyore Girls from Vihiga County at 30.

Kakamega High School was position 38 in the national schools category. St Peter’s Mumias Boys High School dominated the top 10 positions in Kakamega County, taking three positions. Musingu Boys and Kamkamega High took two positions in the top ten category in the county.

Booker Academy from Mumias and Moi Girls Nangili each produced one student in the top 10 in Kakamega County.

In Vihiga County the top performer was Sophia Waka Alasi from Bunyore Girls who attained 12.219 points. The school, however, had only one student in the top 10.

Chavakali High School grabbed four positions in the top 10 positions in the county.

The other school that featured was Nyang’ori Boys with two positions.

In Busia County Kolanya Boys produced the top student Linus Papa Ekajapu, who scored 11.89 points.

Kolanya also produced the fourth best student in the county Eliani Oboke Brian, who scored 11.74 points.

Butula High claimed three positions in the top ten in the county.
