The Kenyan embassy in Angola has invited Kenyan citizens in the country to apply for new-generation passports between January 27- January 29, 2023.

The embassy, in a statement on Wednesday, said immigration officials will be in Luanda for three days to carry out the exercise.

"The Embassy wishes to inform that immigration officers will be available at the Embassy in Luanda from Jan 27-29, to facilitate capture of biometrics for processing applications for the new generation passports," it said.

Applicants can make the application on the ecitizen website, and send the receipt copies to [email protected]

Last year, Kenya announced that the deadline for phasing out old-generation passports for all East African Community (EAC) member states was November 2022.

This was according to an agreement reached during the EAC Council of Minister's meeting in Arusha, Tanzania last year.
