A bus travelling from eastern Mbale, Uganda, to Nairobi, crashed late on Saturday killing at least 21 people and injuring 49 others.
Speaking to AFP, Ugandan regional police spokesman Rogers Taitika said the bus crashed at Lwakhakha town shortly after crossing the border from Uganda.
Taikita said most of those killed were of Kenyan nationality and included eight Ugandans, adding that the crash occurred after the driver lost control of the bus.
"Preliminary findings point to a case of over-speeding by the bus driver," said Taikita.
