Makini School produced the top pupil in Nairobi Province in this year’s Kenya National Examination Council (KCPE).
Yahya Salama, 14, was also ranked fourth in the country with 453 marks out of 500.
Interestingly, the mixed-day school had only girls in the top 100 category nationally.
The other girls include Muabe Eunice, Nora Awori, and Diana Wanjuhi.
The school’s Director Mary Okello said for the last six years the school had produced the best female student in the country.
"It has been a tough year but we have maintained the top slot for female candidates," she said.
Salama did not make an appearance at the school to celebrate her victory and her parents’ phone went unanswered.
Ranked fourth
Mrs Okello said the school management had received information that the girl had travelled for holiday.
Muabe, who was ranked fourth in Nairobi Province, could not hide her joy amid tears.
She said: "I expected to pass but I did not expect to be among the best in the province."
Hoping to be a paediatrician in future, Muabe said it is through hard work and determination from parents, teachers that she recorded the excellent results.
