Quality Standards for Increased Income for Farmers and Pastoralists

Farmers and pastoralists in Kenya have a reason to smile as they are about to fetch more money from their farming, by meeting quality standards required for both local and export markets.

This follows a partnership between the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and the Kenya Markets Trust (KMT) to roll out a programme that will ensure quality adherence for farm produce. The two organisations will promote standardisation, metrology and conformity assessment in the Dairy, Livestock, Water, Agricultural inputs and Crop Seed sectors on the basis of equality and inclusiveness for all sector players.
