Awkward moment as Kasarani man walks into trap set by his secret lover’s husband

Counties

Ordinarily, when a husband catches his wife cheating on him or even in the company of a man he suspects she cheats with, raw rage always boils over.

In some instances, it end in a fight, with either of them leaving the crime scene with a bloodied nose, broken limbs and what not. And in some extreme cases, the offending party is dispatched to meet his Maker.

But what recently happened in Nairobi’s Kasarani Estate after a husband caught a man he suspects cheats with his wife is strange, if not hilarious.

That the husband to his secret lover lured him into a trap, and all he did was to give him a lengthy lecture on dangers of cheating with married women has left a man surnamed Mugo scared stiff.

The self-proclaimed smooth operator, who has been having a secret affair with a married woman in the estate, is yet to come to terms with that goose bump-inducing incident that took place weeks ago.

Mugo told this writer that drama began when he bumped into the woman as they queued for a matatu one morning. Light banter quickly led to an exchange of phone numbers, and within a short time the duo began meeting for hot dates.

That the woman was a lonely soul, considering her Ugandan husband is hardly around, made matters even easier for Mugo.

Secret affair

Soon the two began organising rendezvous that saw the affair blossom into a full blown relationship, characterised with romantic escapades.

The suspicious husband to confiscated his wife’s phone and began snooping, only to discover the two had been meeting at his house in his absence and laid a trap.

So when Mugo received a text message, inviting him over, he got excited without knowing it was his secret lover’s husband using her phone.

According to the text message, the woman’s husband was going to be away for the weekend on one of his usual numerous trips. Thus, the two would have the house to themselves.

An excited Mugo replied, saying he would only be available as from Saturday evening, since he works until about 8pm. Plus, as usual, he would not want to be spotted entering her house by nosy neighbours.

Panic-stricken duo

When Mugo got to his lover’s house, the door was not locked. Without much thought, he pushed it in and got into the house’s living room. But lo and behold, curled on the sofa was the husband.

The husband calmly explained that it was him who had set up the ‘date’ after coming across several messages between the two. After he locked the door, he called in his wife, who was in the kitchen and calmly launched into a lecture. He wanted to know why they were cheating on their spouses, and went a head to warn them on the dangers of infidelity.

The panic-stricken duo initially denied the relationship, but after the offended husband fished out incriminating evidence of their liaison on WhatsApp messaging application, they confessed and listened as he addressed them. Once he was done, Mugo was set free and asked to end the affair.
