The King and Queen of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander and Máxima, will make a three-day State visit to Kenya from Tuesday, March 18, to Thursday, March 20, 2025.

The Netherlands Information Service confirmed that the visit is at the invitation of President William Ruto, and aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.

“The Netherlands seeks to forge new partnerships and deepen existing ties. Kenya plays an increasingly influential role on the global stage,” the statement read in part.

The visit will highlight cooperation between the two countries in key areas, including democracy, the rule of law, and judicial independence.

Kenya and the Netherlands also collaborate on various challenges such as peace and security, climate change, and food security.

In addition to the royal visit, economic missions focusing on sustainable agriculture and water management will take place, further deepening ties between the two countries.

Kenya would be welcoming the second pair of royals after King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited in October 2023.
