Rapper Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty on March 28, 2025, in a Florida federal court on multiple counts of wire fraud, WPLG reported.

The duo was convicted of a scheme in which they defrauded businesses of over $1 million by using fake wire transfers to obtain luxury items, including vehicles, jewelry, and electronics.

Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson, and Turner were found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and five counts of wire fraud. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison. Their sentencing is set for July 11, 2025.

During the trial, evidence showed that they used fraudulent documents to acquire high-end goods without making actual payments. Among the items they obtained were a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade and expensive watches, which they secured by promising social media promotion and citing connections with celebrities like Justin Bieber.

From reports, 62-year-old Turner was identified as the mastermind behind the operation. She had a prior conviction for bank fraud in 2006, where she served 18 months in prison for stealing over $160,000.

Kingston, known for his 2007 hit Beautiful Girls, was visibly emotional in court and broke down upon hearing the verdict, pleading with officials to “protect my mother.”
