A woman has linked controversial preacher Victor Kanyari to a baby theft and human sacrifice syndicate.

Mercy Makone Nelima aka Joy told a city court that the lead preacher at Salvation Healing Ministry instructed her to steal a girl aged seven years on April 12 within Ruaraka area.

According to court documents, Nelima, a house help based in Juja, was to work with three other accomplices to kidnap Margaret Murunga Aura’s daughter and suck her blood.

The prosecution stated that on the material day, Nelima visited Murunga to plait her hair, but since she was busy with house chores, Nelima asked to leave with the child to deliver some items to Murunga’s sister who was their mutual friend.

An hour later, Nelima had not returned with the girl and could not be traced even via her mobile phone. However, inside a black handbag which she had left at Murunga’s house, a note with four mobile numbers and instructions was found.

“Call these numbers, and get what you want, Pastor Kanyari, call and get your child (blood) tunakunywa, we belong in (Illuminati), blood taken (we take blood) (sic),” read the note in part.

The matter was reported to authorities and Nelima was tracked down to her hideout in Juja. Nelima later led the cops to a her employer’s house in Juja where the baby was found safe and  sound.

Nelima who previously worked as a house help in Juja had told her employer that she had no child, yet she turned up with the girl after Easter.

Also recovered in the Juja house was a clinic card with the name Shania Tembe. Investigators believe the kidnapped girl had fallen sick and taken to a health centre for treatment using a different name.

Nelima pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to five years in jail on April 24.

“All the facts read are true, I did it because I was sent to do so by the preacher,” she claimed.
