Voters in Kirinyaga County voted out the entire crop of current leaders in the hotly contested Jubilee Party primaries.
From the governor to Members of Parliament, all the incumbent leaders lost a chance to vie through Jubilee tickets on August 8.
The first to lose in the primaries was Governor Joseph Ndathi, who was followed in quick succession by all the MPs led by Woman Representative Winnie Njuguna.
Ms Njuguna lost to flamboyant businesswoman Purity Ngirici while in Gichugu, the incumbent MP, Njogu Barua, was trounced by newcomer Robert Gichimu.
Mr Gichimu will now fly the party's flag after garnering 27,959 votes against Barua's 8,558.
A disappointed Njuguna, who described the nominations as a sham, claimed there was a plot to replace all incumbent leaders.
"It is not possible that all the incumbent leaders are losing; it is abnormal," she said.
The woman rep said she was not ready to concede defeat because the exercise was marred by irregularities.
"There were massive cases of voter bribery and one of the aspirants was heavily involved in selecting poll clerks and transporting ballot boxes," she claimed.
Another defeat came for Ndia lawmaker Stephen Ngare, who lost to George Kariuki.
Mwea MP Peter Gitau also lost to Kabinga Wathayo.
This was Mr Kabinga's second stab at the parliamentary seat nominations after losing to Mr Gitau in 2013.
