Imara Daima ‘mboch’ accused of fingering baby girl

News
It is alleged that Felista intentionally and unlawfully inserted her fingers in the child’s genitals in a manner to cause penetration

A house help has been charged for defiling a four-year-old girl.

The court heard that the minor’s mother busted Felista Waithegeni Wachira, in the act at their home in Imara Daima, Nairobi.

The suspect, the court heard, committed the offence on diverse dates between May 1, and July 10.

It is alleged that Felista intentionally and unlawfully inserted her fingers in the child’s genitals in a manner to cause penetration. Felista is also facing the alternative charge of indecent act of intentionally and unlawfully touching the minor’s private parts.

Police said that the minor’s mother started noticing that her daughter’s behaviour had changed after she refused to be bathed by the suspect.

The court also heard that at some point, it is said that the minor had nightmares, sometime waking up in the middle of the night shouting the suspect’s name.

After probing her daughter, she allegedly told a harrowing tale of how the suspect had sexually assaulted her.

The shocking revelations prompted the complainant’s mother to investigate the claims. One night, she allegedly sneaked into their bedroom only to find the suspect sharing her bed with the minor, with her daughter’s panties lying on the floor. What was disturbing, the court heard, is the fact that the girl had her own bed, but here she was in the suspect’s bed.

The girl was rushed to hospital where it emerged she may have been defiled.

Felista denied the charges and was released on Sh300,000 bond. The case is set for August 19.
