Is Victoria Kimani and Wizkid dating after their romantic display?

Victoria Kimani

When Pulse called Victoria Kimani’s manager early this week to get a comment on the blooming romance between the Mtoto singer and Nigeria’s Wizkid, she declined to comment.

No one had suspected that the two singers had a thing going on, until that Sunday night when they laid it all bare at Skyluxx in Westlands. They looked quite the couple and their emotions could not be hidden.

Wizkid had performed at the Carnivore grounds earlier that night. It was one of the biggest shows of the Mashujaa Day weekend and as was expected, thousands of fans had answered the call, jamming Carnivore grounds as early as 8pm and waiting anxiously for the star of the night, the Caro singer himself.

At first, the organisers looked mixed up as a list that had some VIP names on it disappeared to the great embarrassment of some invited guests, some who opted to leave the venue as they were not allowed in.

“Boniface has exhausted his slots. We can’t find his VIP list. We can not even find him,” a girl manning the VIP entrance told a group of stranded guests, which included the media.

As this was happening, P Unit’s Frasha showed up and was freely ushered in. Two pretty girls came by and were given the same warm treatment as the media looked on, waiting for one Boniface.

Inside the venue, the entry to the loosely manned Golden Circle and VIP area seemed easier to access than expected. There was seemingly no need to have paid that extra Sh6,500 to get special service.

Inside the VIP area, the usual suspects held court, partying the night away. Sauti Sol band member Polycarp (the guitarist) kept it personal by dancing with his curvaceous, chocolate skinned lass as Salvador and a bored looking Bien mingled with friends.

Octopizzo stood at the entrance to the artistes’ section of the VIP with a group of fans. Inside the artistes’ tent, Jackline Awinja and radio presenter Ciru Muriuki puffed a ‘roll’. Producer Kagwe later joined them.

We would later spot Awinja with comedian Owago Onyiro looking a little bit too cosy in each others’ company. Word is that they are an item.

Then Wizkid walked in with a film crew and a considerably large entourage. He made his way onto the stage as his personal deejay, DJ Xclusive played some familiar West African tunes.

From his high-energy entrance, the pint-sized singer had the audience in a frenzy as the ladies shouted for the singer’s attention with some attempting to jump onto the stage.

“Please bouncers, be gentle with my fans. I love them so much,” protested Wizkid.

His off-the-cuff comments directed to the audience didn’t stop there.

“I have been around the world but nowhere else compares to this. This is the best show ever!” exclaimed the Caro hitmaker to the jam packed venue right before throwing his black T-shirt to the audience. He remained in a vest for the rest of his performance.

As he performed Caro, he called on his bouncers to pull some girls from the audience.

“I want to see Kenya’s Caro,” he teased.

The young girls did a little twerk and before being unceremoniously led off the stage by the bouncers as soon as the beat for the next track started playing. The Nigerian artiste finished off with Ginger and Show You The Money, for which he was joined by fellow Nigerian artiste Lax.

But at Skyluxx where the party had moved after the thrilling performances, the Nigerian star made his appearance in the company of Lax, Muthoni DQ and Victoria Kimani. This was at 4am.

As he enjoyed his paparazzi moment, Victoria Kimani stood by his side. The two seemed unusually close and rather affectionate. At some point, Wizkid held Victoria’s hand and went further to take off her jacket that he handed over to his entourage for safe keeping.

The entourage refreshed themselves on bottles of Ciroc but Wizkid stuck to Hennessy. After a few drinks, Wizkid hopped in a four-wheel drive with Victoria Kimani. The two started kissing each other before the car sped off, seemingly unaware that the car’s windows were not tinted.
