Cigarette-maker BAT Kenya has been feted for its efficient use of energy at its Nairobi operations. The company has been awarded in recognition for its sustainable use of energy resources by complying with the Energy (Energy Management) Regulations, 2012. The certification was delivered by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
Speaking at the event in Nairobi, ERC Director General Joseph Ng'ang'a said the regulations apply to facilities that consume more than 180,000 kilowatt-hours of power annually.
