The Governor reminded Nairobians to remit payments via the County’s electronic system; eJijipay by dialing *217# or on epayment.go.ke Payment can also be made by depositing money in any Co-operative and Family Bank branches. The Governor said the online platform was part of a raft of measures Nairobi County is undertaking to enhance revenue collection while creating a friendlier business climate.

“The introduction of the e-Payment platform last year is a continued demonstration of Nairobi County’s commitment to promoting ease of doing business in the City and a part of our commitment to eradicate bottlenecks to investment and innovation,” said Dr  Kidero

The e-Payment is a multi-channel payment platform targeting the business community and is expected to dramatically reduce the cost of doing business by cutting delays in registration of new ventures, critical to spurring trade, investment and employment creation.  Business owners can now instantly pay for their Single business permits, parking, construction, market rates, Cess and land rates.

“We are aware of the important role that Nairobi City County plays in shaping perceptions of Kenya as an investment destination. Therefore, initiatives like the e-Payment online service is part of our strategy to improve Kenya’s business ranking globally,” said Dr Kidero.
